Replies week 2 – 5400

I have to write a reply to each of the texts in the document attached below, they must be 200 words each and include references.

Discussion

  1. What was your biggest “take away” from any/all of the simulations?
  2. What did you find most challenging from the simulations?
  3. How is what you learned from the assignments applicable to the medical field?
  4. Give examples of how such knowledge can affect your direct patient care.

The patient is a 71-year-old widowed man who is seen regularly in the clinic for health maintenance and follow-up of his chronic insomnia and anxiety. He has regular prescriptions for triazolam (Halcion) and clonazepam (Klonopin) for these problems. Recently he has been reporting frequent episodes of losing his balance and falling, and eight weeks ago was hospitalized for a hip fracture sustained during one of these falls resulting in hip surgery. On this visit, he also complains of becoming increasingly confused.

EXAMINING NURSING SPECIALTIES

You have probably seen one or more of the many inspirational posters about decisions. A visual such as a forked road or a street sign is typically pictured, along with a quote designed to inspire.

Decisions are often not so easily inspired. Perhaps you discovered this when choosing a specialty within the MSN program. This decision is a critical part of your plan for success, and you no doubt want to get it right. This is yet another area where your network can help, as well as other sources of information that can help you make an informed choice.

Note

: Unless otherwise noted, initial postings to Discussions are due on or before Day 3, and response postings are due on or before Day 6. You are required to participate in the Discussion on at least three different days (a different day for main post and each response). It is important to adhere to the weekly time frame to allow others ample time to respond to your posting. In addition, you are expected to respond to questions directed toward your own initial posting in a timely manner.

Nursing Discussion assignment

Please take a look at the attachment

pathophysiology of fibromyalgia. Include clinical manifestations, evaluation, & treatment.

  • How does this topic relate to something you might see in clinical practice?
  • How does this topic relate to your presentation
  • Which ideas make the most sense and why?
  •  How does this topic relate to current events?
  • What might make this problem more treatable?

Module 1 week 2 scenario

Scenario:

  • A 49-year-old patient with rheumatoid arthritis comes into the clinic with a chief complaint of a fever.
  • Patient’s current medications include atorvastatin 40 mg at night, methotrexate 10 mg po every Friday morning and prednisone 5 mg po qam.
  • He states that he has had a fever up to 101 degrees F for about a week and admits to chills and sweats.
  • He says he has had more fatigue than usual and reports some chest pain associated with coughing.
  • He admits to having occasional episodes of hemoptysis.
  • He works as a grain inspector at a large farm cooperative.
  • After extensive work-up, the patient was diagnosed with Invasive aspergillosis.

The Assignment

(1- to 2-page case study analysis-this does not include title page and reference page)

Develop a 1- to 2-page case study analysis in which you:

  • Explain why you think the patient presented the symptoms described. (Not a trick question but reflective of a patient on immunosuppressive drugs and a high-risk employment for exposure to Aspergillosis)
  • Identify the genes that may be associated with the development of the disease.
  • Explain the process of immunosuppression and the effect it has on body systems.

Developing answers to these 3 questions, each question 1-2 paragraphs will bring you to the 2-page expected limit. 3 pages will not lose points but learning to synthesize points, provide current references (submissions like this would earn 3 primary references) and citations will garner full credit.

Reminder: Include a title page, introduction, summary, and references, done in APA format. Keep references current, 5 yr. from publication please and from primary references (# references to support your points for full credit) like classroom textbook, peer-reviewed journals.

reflection

This week, we talked about the Resilience Portfolio Model and profiles of strengths and resilience. We also took a look at the Resilience Portfolio Interview, which can be found here:

There are two tasks for this assignment: One is to reflect on yourself, and the other is to discuss counseling practice applications of assessing resilience. How you do that could be quite variable, however!

(1) For this reflection, ask yourself some of the questions from this interview and share a little about some of your personal resilience factors. Of course, only share what you are comfortable sharing with me. You DO NOT need to answer all of the questions. You could spend the whole paper answering one question in depth (with a story, as they say), or you could answer multiple questions at a more vague level if you prefer. 🙂

(2) If you have experience assessing strengths with clients, talk a little about this experience—was it effective/helpful? Were there any challenges? If you have not assessed strengths with clients, is this something you would consider doing in the future? How might it be incorporated into your work with trauma/PTSD?

Grading Criteria

I'm really not looking to take off points for the reflection assignments. I don't have specific rubrics for them, but if you do not seem to be engaging with the prompt or answering the questions, I may take off points. Each reflection assignment is worth
5 points.

Laboratory for Diagnosis, Symptom and Illness Management

The answers must be in your own words with reference to the journal or book where you found the evidence to your answer. Do not copy-paste or use a past students work as all files submitted in this course are registered and saved in turn it in program.
