Review of Current Healthcare Issues

Review of Current Healthcare Issues

If you were to ask 10 people what they believe to be the most significant issue facing healthcare today, you might get 10 different answers. Escalating costs? Regulation? Technology disruption?

These and many other topics are worthy of discussion. Not surprisingly, much has been said in the research, within the profession, and in the news about these topics. Whether they are issues of finance, quality, workload, or outcomes, there is no shortage of changes to be addressed.

In this Discussion, you examine a national healthcare issue and consider how that issue may impact your work setting. You also analyze how your organization has responded to this issue.

To Prepare: 1 Page only discussion with 3 References:

  • Review the Resources and select one current national healthcare issue/stressor to focus on.
  • Reflect on the current national healthcare issue/stressor you selected and think about how this issue/stressor may be addressed in your work setting.

Post a description of the national healthcare issue/stressor you selected for analysis, and explain how the healthcare issue/stressor may impact your work setting. Then, describe how your health system work setting has responded to the healthcare issue/stressor, including a description of what changes may have been implemented. Be specific and provide examples.

final component:

At some point in every construction project, efforts turn from design and the focus moves to actual construction. With the vision in place and the tools secured, the blueprint can be finalized and approved. Then it is time to put on hardhats and begin work.

Throughout the course you have developed aspects of your Academic and Professional Development Plan. You have put a great deal of thought into your vision and goals, your academic and professional network of support, research strategies and other tools you will need, the integrity of your work, and the value of consulting the work of others. With your portfolio in place, it is now time to finalize your blueprint for success.

Much as builders remain cognizant of the building standards as they plan and begin construction, nurses must remain mindful of the formal standards of practice that govern their specialty. A good understanding of these standards can help ensure that your success plan includes any steps necessary to excel within your chosen specialty.

In this Assignment you will continue developing your Academic Success and Professional Development Plan by developing the final component: a review of your specialty standards of practice. You will also submit your final version of the document, including Parts 1–5.

To Prepare:

Review the scope and standards of practice or competencies related to your chosen specialty.

Download the Nursing Specialty Comparison Matrix.

Examine professional organizations related to the specialization you have chosen and identify at least one to focus on for this assignment.

Reflect on the thoughts you shared in the Discussion forum regarding your choice of a specialty, any challenges you have encountered in making this choice, and any feedback you have received from colleagues in the Discussion.

The Assignment:

Complete the following items and incorporate them into the final version of your Academic Success and Professional Development Plan.

1. Write a paragraph that provides a detailed comparison at least two nursing specialties, including your selected specialization and second-preferred specialization.

2. Write a clear and accurate 2- to 3-paragraph justification statement identifying your reasons for choosing your MSN specialization. Provide sufficient evidence of incorporating feedback you received from colleagues in this week’s Discussion Forum.

3. Clearly identify and accurately describe in detail the professional organization related to the specialization you have chosen to focus on for this assignment and explain how you can become an active member of this organization.

[Note: Your final version of the Academic Success and Professional Development Plan should include] [all components as presented the Academic Success and Professional Development Plan template.] [Make all corrections to each part based on faculty feedback and submit a final and edited copy of the] [template [(Part 1-Part 6) in correct APA format.]

[Submit Parts 1-6 of your Academic Success and Professional Development Plan.]

Help!! Small correction made to a discussion- due in 1 hour 30 minutes

I am posting the instructor’s feedback and below I will post the actual assignment. My response is attached.

You might want to spend more time on your discussions.  First, be sure to copy the questions.  Answer #3 is incomplete because you did not list three sources.  In answer #4 you did not respond to the question about documenting these three ways of using information.

Discussion Posts and Responses:

1.  Comment briefly on the relevance of your past experiences with literature.

2.  What have you read that you consider a “masterpiece”?  Explain.

3.  Often literary works emphasize struggle, conflict, between two opposing forces or characters.  How is this subject matter archetypal?

4.  Your textbook states that Homer’s Iliad symbolizes a “truth of existence” (p. 68) that one’s growth can also contribute to one’s fall.  Do you believe that in real life this possibility occurs often?

5. Identify at least two human qualities that the ancient work Gilgamesh reveals.

6.  Based on your reading at least two Books from The Iliad, can you provide any explanation for why this work has been read and studied for centuries?  Use specifics from The Iliad as you answer this question.

7. How does each of the eight characters you read about that Chaucer describes in his “General Prologue” of The Canterbury Tales reveal humanity? (Remember to address each one individually.)

8. What do you consider to be James Joyce’s main intent in the short story “Araby”?  Explain clearly.  Then respond to the story’s relevance to you.

Personal Leadership Philosophies

Many of us can think of leaders we have come to admire, be they historical figures, pillars of the industry we work in, or leaders we know personally. The leadership of individuals such as Abraham Lincoln and Margaret Thatcher has been studied and discussed repeatedly. However, you may have interacted with leaders you feel demonstrated equally competent leadership without ever having a book written about their approaches.

What makes great leaders great? Every leader is different, of course, but one area of commonality is the leadership philosophy that great leaders develop and practice. A leadership philosophy is basically an attitude held by leaders that acts as a guiding principle for their behavior. While formal theories on leadership continue to evolve over time, great leaders seem to adhere to an overarching philosophy that steers their actions.

What is your leadership philosophy? In this Assignment, you will explore what guides your own leadership.

To Prepare:

  • Identify two to three scholarly resources, in addition to this Module’s readings, that evaluate the impact of leadership behaviors in creating healthy work environments.
  • Reflect on the leadership behaviors presented in the three resources that you selected for review.
  • Reflect on your results of the CliftonStrengths      Assessment, and consider how the results relate to your leadership traits.
  • Download your Signature Theme Report to submit for this      Assignment.

The Assignment (3-4 pages):

Personal Leadership Philosophies

Develop and submit a personal leadership philosophy that reflects what you think are characteristics of a good leader. Use the scholarly resources on leadership you selected to support your philosophy statement. Your personal leadership philosophy should include the following:

  • A description of your core values.
  • A personal mission/vision statement.
  • An analysis of your CliftonStrengths Assessment      summarizing the results of your profile
  • A description of two key behaviors that you wish to      strengthen.
  • A development plan that explains how you plan to      improve upon the two key behaviors you selected and an explanation of how      you plan to achieve your personal vision. Be specific and provide      examples.
  • Be sure to incorporate your colleagues’ feedback on      your CliftonStrengths Assessment from this Module’s Discussion 2.
  • Note: Be sure to attach your Signature Theme Report to      your Assignment submission.

Important

One of the Themes evident in the “Death of Ivan llyich” by Leo Tolstoy  is that of Destiny:  each person in the worlds these authors have created faces his or her destiny in ways peculiar to the individual. Look at the elements.  Select a character, and identify the character’s destiny.  Does the universe created by the author feel any sense of obligation to that character?  Does the character accept the destiny or fight it? Does the universe created for the story by the author care? Write about the concept of destiny and how it applies to the character? Answer all the questions with substance no fluffers. Use everything you know about the way the elements work to support your Controlling Idea.

This essay will require analysis.  Don’t bother retelling the story:  your readers have read it.  Instead, take the story apart to see how the pieces interact.  Show us cause-and-effect relationships, the causes being the elements, the effects being the readers’ reactions, and the relationships being the means by which the reactions were evoked.  Identify the general effect in a Thesis Statement (or Statement of the Controlling Idea).
