Discuss the trajectory of women’s issues over the course of the last three centuries

Discuss the trajectory of women’s issues over the course of the last three centuries by using at least writers (one from each major time period—the Romantic Era, the Victorian Era, and the Modern Era) and their works which concern gender issues that we have read and discussed this semester.

 

The Romantic Era:

Mary Wollstonecraft (1759-1797): A Vindication of the Rights of Woman (1792)

The Victorian Era:

John Stuart Mill (1869):  The Subjection of Women

The Modern Era: 

Virginia Woolf: A Room of One’s Own.

As with any good essay, yours should have an introduction that ends with a clear thesis which clearly and specifically states the main points of your essay, paragraphs that develop and elaborate on these main points, and a conclusion. Your sentences and ideas should be clearly and fluidly connected using logical transition words/phrases. Be sure to proofread and edit your essay carefully for grammar and spelling before submitting it.

Pay close attention to all details of MLA formatting, in the parenthetical citations as well as in the list of Works Cited.
